Ladies and gents, I will be tackling a new self-improvement project every month. At the end of the month, I will update you on my efforts, how the experiment affected other areas of my life, and whether or not I think the experiment deserves to become a habit.
Like many people, I enjoy staying up late, staring at my computer, and cramming an extra thousand calories down my piehole. (Slight exaggeration.) (Well, sometimes it’s an exaggeration.) This isn’t the end of the world, clearly, but let’s see if I can skip that fourth (fifth?) meal for awhile, shall we?
Will I achieve the famous 12-hour eating window? Sometimes, maybe.
Best Case Scenario: Better meal planning. Maybe I save a few bucks and lose a few pounds. This experiment may also help with my ongoing bedtime resistance… as evidence suggests I’m mostly staying up to eat. Being hungrier in the morning might help me get up, too.
Worst Case Scenario: If I plan poorly, I may get too hungry and need to eat after 8 PM. No fear, I’m not going to starve myself for the sake of a novelty challenge on an obscure blog. Can you think of any potential downsides to this experiment?
It’s nearly midnight on February 1, and I have not yet died of starvation. That seems promising.
Will you join me in not eating after 8 PM this month? Why or why not? Speak your piece in the comments below.
