Today it dawned on me that autumn in Pennsylvania is going to be very, very different from autumn in New Mexico. We’re running out of time to wear summer clothes, and I never showed you my tank-to-halter alteration:
Top – St. John’s Bay, maybe? Second-hand
Belt – Steve Madden via Ross or Marshalls
Skirt – Mossimo Premium, second-hand
Flip-flops – My lone pair of sandals! No name, second-hand
Purse – Forever 21

I bought this top two summers ago because I loved its print, pintucks, buttons, and trim. In an attempt to keep the too-long straps from slipping off my shoulders, I shortened and re-attached them closer together. This caused the shirt’s back to ride up if I didn’t strap everything in place with a belt, as seen here. Curses!
A year later, I detached the straps again, sewed up their frayed ends, and sewed a piece of elastic across the back of the shirt to improve its fit and keep my bra covered. This might be the first halter I’ve ever had.
I learned to tie bandana turbans from Super Kawaii Mama’s video. Easy, snazzy way to avoid styling one’s hair make a statement.
What do you need to do before autumn comes?
