Curiously I was tempted to buy a phoenix silver color bracelet a few days ago, finally didn’t….maybe someday! it’s a very nice symbol, in many cultures through history: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phoenix_(mythology)

So, I see you like outfits! enjoy combining, creating, that’s nice, shows a very personal and own style…not following any magazine trends!!

If you had to define your style, what would you say? About mine, I’d say simple, natural, tribal, feminine ….basic! complements give the personality :) silver….stone/crystals/seeds/wood…I enjoy pendants, earrings, bracelets, anklets, bags….

Ming – I’ll deserve that smack. In my defense, I use the phrase “big ol’ legs” as an allusion to that stranger trying to hit on me and wounding my pride instead— and until my thighs stop rubbing together so vigorously they wear holes in my pants, I will keep complaining when the mood strikes.

As to feeling stocky, maybe I should have said “I like my bust-waist-hip ratio a hell of a lot better than I like my legs, so wearing clothes that disguises my upper half feels like a mistake for me.” Is that better? I sometimes like trapeze or swing coats on other people, or voluminous tops worn with fitted pants… but I’m more pear than apple, and I’m learning to work with the body I have.

Someday someone who really is stocky/really does have huge legs is gonna read this blog and smack you upside the head. Look around you, you’re tiny compared to almost everyone (in real life, TV doesn’t count.) So PPPBPLLLTT!

Those cuffs are seriously cool! They remind me of the book of Russian fairy tales we had when we were little – lots of them had vivid illustrations of fire birds. Their feathers were in high demand.

Angela – I used to have a buzz cut. A buzz cut and massive cuffs would have looked great! Speaking of prepositions, have you ever seen that Churchill “nonsense up with which I will not put” remark? There’s an analysis here http://itre.cis.upenn.edu/~myl/languagelog/archives/002670.html. So it may be a near-fabrication, but I still like it. It’s never wrong to sound like Yoda.

Stitchywitchy – I have finally learned that I look stocky in anything without a nipped-in waist. Sadly, most of the vegan belts I’ve found look hideously cheap. I dread the day this one falls apart.
