On Friday I woke up late, brushed my teeth, climbed into my rattiest clothes, and staggered to work.

That’s right, I appeared publicly wearing sneakers AND a cap, two things I hate. I was a disgrace to androgyny’s noble history. David Bowie would be ashamed!
Readers, I wasn’t thrilled to be seen with myself.
But all bad things must end; that evening I slathered myself with lotion and makeup, gave my hair a stern talking-to, wriggled into a slinky gown, and strutted to a concert with my head held high.

It was choir performance, see, and my conductor wanted her singers formally attired; ”fluffed and puffed”, as she put it.

Fluff fluff! Puff! Don’t let the photo fool you; I still have hips.

That’s how I went from Boy Next Door to Old Hollywood Glamour in 40 minutes. Neat trick, huh?
Try this at home!

Wow absolutely stunning!!!

I like it when girls wear flowers in their hair. Impressive transformation!

I’m with Pravit on this one.
I think its a shame how you usually only see the flower-in-hair look on island ladies.

Pretty pretty, lady!!!

Sarah – Thank you so much! I’m improving with age.
Dylan – With a simple wave of my wand…
Jen – I WANTED to say ‘presentation is everything’ in this post, but I knew you’d hate it. =)
Pravit – I like it too, and there’s really nothing else I CAN do with this little hair.
Leslie – Dressing up for the Friday concert is always exciting, it’s so fun to see all your classmates dressed to the nines. By the Saturday show, it’s all old news.
Smiley Woman – Ha! That may be the best pickup line I’ve ever heard!
Redd – Dorothy Lamour would be proud.
Lori – Awwww! Thanks, Miss Lori.

You are inarguably one of the most beautiful people I have ever seen. end of story. give your self esteem the same stern talking to that so obviously worked on your hair. And it’s not just your stunning physical appearance, we all know that you’re even more gorgeous inside!

Wow, thank you! I think I look remarkably average, but I’m happy that not everyone agrees with me. ;)

Rebekah you look anything but average, I agree with winter on both counts 1) you need to have a chat with your self-esteem, and 2) you are a beautiful person inside and out. Some days I wish there was a way to hold a mirror up to you that would let you see what I (and obviously others!) see in you.

Thanks! You can see it again at my recital. No way I’m buying a new dress; this might be my final performance, yo!
