Dear Y’all,
My name is Rebekah. I am a 24-year-old music student, avid reader, and part-time optimist. Born and raised in Indiana, currently studying in the southwest. I miss the trees, but not the skillion-dollar heating bills.
My interests include singer-songwriters, costumes, baking, minimalism, hiking, and daydreaming about complete nonsense. One day, I will travel.
I share a dingy apartment with Mr. Jaunty, my illustrious boyfriend. Together we experiment with vegan cooking, catch up on classic films, and seek enlightenment. More or less.
Old-timers will recognize me from my two previous blogs. Third time’s a charm, old-timers.
This blog will document my thoughts and experiences as I plow through various hurdles, delusions, and self-improvement projects with a knowing smile and a jaunty step.
At this very moment, I am baking pecan tarts for a potluck and wondering if it’s more rude to be twenty minutes late or to barge in and demand the hostess’ oven. Ooh, make that thirty minutes late.
Which IS worse?

Neither choice is better or worse, simply two possible paths to further enlightenment.
The important matter is-how were the tarts?

Rebekah: It pains me to admit this, but the tarts were a complete crash and burn. I got a bit carried away with the filling, so they overflowed like mushroom clouds. Totally unrecognizable, I’ve NEVER seen them do anything like that. Also, I used whole wheat pastry flour in the crust, and some white flour would have improved its texture. Live and learn. We bought some Tofutti Cuties on the way to the potluck, no big deal.
